Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will participate in identifying and selecting business development opportunities in line with the company's aspirations and strategy, as well as in developing business cases with the support of internal functions and external consultants. You will also oversee the Due Diligence process and contribute to negotiations with partners on contract terms.

In this capacity, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure active prospecting and identification of potential opportunities, including:
    • Defining licensing, acquisition, or co-development models.
    • Attending pharmaceutical industry congresses and conferences.

 

  • Develop detailed and robust business cases in coordination with internal stakeholders, which involves:
    • Preparing the opportunity analysis (company, product/portfolio, market, etc.).
    • Defining market and product forecasts.
    • Establishing key assumptions and launch strategy.
    • Identifying major risks and opportunities as well as financial impact.

 

  • Lead the due diligence process and manage various workstreams, including:
    • Engaging and communicating with internal stakeholders and partners.
    • Build a concise due diligence report with key findings, conclusions and recommendations from the workstream leaders.
  • Support negotiations of key legal and financial terms in term sheets and contracts with the support from the legal team and/or external consultants to obtain approval by the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and shareholders.
  • Prepare necessary materials throughout the business development process for the presentation to partners and the Executive Committee/Board to facilitate decision-making.
  • Provide support of the deal’s integration post-signature to ensure a smooth transition within the company across all functions.

Requirements

  • You hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Bac +4) in Business Administration / International Business, ideally with a scientific background.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in Business Development or Corporate Finance, with significant expertise in identifying and closing deals.
  • The pharmaceutical industry has no secrets for you, particularly in Europe and key international markets.
  • Throughout your career, you have successfully led the business development process from end to end and built a strong network (BD pharma, banks, consultants, etc.).
  • Beyond your strong interpersonal skills, you demonstrate proven abilities in negotiation, communication, and a strong analytical mindset.
  • You are results-oriented, detail-oriented and rigorous, which is reflected in the quality of your presentations.
  • You enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • International travel: approximately 50% of the time.
